The main purpose of the drug sildigra is to treat male erectile dysfunction (ED). It is a member of a class of medications known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, which help men get and keep an erection by boosting blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation.

Sildenafil, the active component of Sildigra, is also included in the well-known ED drug Viagra. Sildenafil functions by preventing the breakdown of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), a substance that relaxes smooth muscles and boosts blood flow to the penis, by the enzyme phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5). Sildenafil improves erectile function by blocking PDE5, which permits cGMP to build up and cause sustained vasodilation.
